The Lord's Prayer

What do the first two words of the Lord's Prayer tell us about our identity? How should this shape our view of God? Our view of the church?

What does it mean that God is in heaven? We might be tempted to think that this means that God lives in the sky, but that is not the case. In this second part we look at how the concept of heaven teaches us the mystery of God.

Is the holiness of God something to be feared? What do we mean when we say that God's name is holy? Is there healing to be found in the fact that God is not like the rest of the world around us?

What does the Kingdom of God look like? Is it like the kingdoms we know here on earth? Wasn't the Kingdom of Israel God's kingdom?

Do we really mean it when we say that God's will be done? Have humans ever done God's will? Do we really have to submit to God to live in His kingdom?

Is God's Kingdom just a city in the clouds? What is the point of being a Christian? Do I just accept Jesus and then hope He comes back soon? Or did Jesus give the church a job to do?

Do we really trust God for everything? Are we simply relying on ourselves and then turning to God in emergencies? What if God is the sustainer of everything?

What did Jesus mean when he told us to forgive? Does it mean that I really have to forgive everyone for everything? What happens if I don't forgive someone?

Temptation is part of life. So then what does Jesus mean when He teaches us to pray "lead us not into temptation"? Is this a prayer for deliverance from temptation or something else?

Do we really understand what it means to be delivered from evil? Are we prepared to give up our reign to Jesus? What if the evil that he wants to deliver us from is within ourselves?

What if I told you Jesus didn't say something you think he said? What if it was added by monks as a benediction? Would that mean that it isn't true?
